Recently, the second China Graduate Student "Beautiful China" Innovation Design Competition came to a successful conclusion. The works of our School of Architecture and Design have achieved excellent results: the work "Fun Tour of Jiangnan Songcheng" by Wang Yike and Xiong Wei, master students of industrial design engineering in 2024, successfully won the first prize in the country under the guidance of teacher Zhang Hong, and He Shiyi's "Coffee Shop Interior Space Design under the Background of Hakka Traditional Culture" won the second prize in the country under the guidance of teacher Lai Huijuan.
The China Graduate Student "Beautiful China" Innovation Design Competition is sponsored by the China Degree and Graduate Education Association under the guidance of the Department of Degree Management and Graduate Education of the Ministry of Education. It is one of the important platforms of the China Graduate Student Innovation Practice Series. It is reported that since the competition was officially launched on August 1 this year, it has attracted active participation from more than 300 colleges and universities and research institutes across the country. A total of 6,160 talented graduate student teams have registered to participate in the competition, and the number of participants ranks among the top in the 16 theme events of the China Graduate Student Innovation Practice Series Competition.
The award is a recognition of the professional quality and innovation ability of our School of Architecture and Design graduate students, and also reflects the school's achievements in cultivating industrial design engineering master's degree talents. Wang Youjian, dean of the School of Architecture and Design, said that the school will use the subject competition as a platform to adhere to the cultivation of high-quality talents, encourage graduate students to go deep into social practice, closely integrate with social needs, combine design wisdom with national development strategies, create influential works, and contribute to the construction of "Beautiful China".
