I. Development history:
Originally an art and design major, this major began to enroll students in 2000, opened the Environmental Art and design direction in 2001, and opened the Environmental design major in 2012 according to the adjustment of the major directory of the Ministry of Education. The major now has the qualification of recommending graduate students to be exempted from examination.

This major aims to cultivate application-oriented professionals who have rich basic theories of indoor and outdoor design, solid practical ability of interior and landscape engineering, artistic innovation spirit, strong social and market adaptability, pay attention to the integration of design, materials and technology, grasp the professional status and develop the frontier.

Iv. Discipline Construction:
This discipline has been approved as the master's program of Design: Ecological Design and Technology, and will start to recruit graduate students in 2018.
5. Cultivation conditions:
The teachers of this major have a reasonable educational structure and rich experience in teaching, research and design engineering. In recent years, professional teachers have undertaken a number of national, provincial, ministerial and municipal research projects, published a number of professional textbooks and published more than 100 scientific research and teaching papers.

Professional teachers participate in engineering training every year, and participate in the design and construction of dozens of actual project cases, the case content is mainly hotel design, restaurant design, office design, store and villa design. In addition, the professional regularly invites enterprise experts to the school to do a series of design lectures, so that students can timely understand the industry dynamics and master the professional development trend.

The major now has a number of provincial and university-level research platforms such as Gannan Hakka Cultural Digitization Research Institute, Gannan Hakka Intangible Cultural Heritage Digital Research Base, Housing Design and Culture Research Center, etc. And has indoor material technology laboratory, furnishings and decoration laboratory, architecture and landscape model laboratory, computer graphics design laboratory and photography studio.

The main employment units of the graduates of this major are: interior decoration companies, real estate companies, architectural design institutes, landscape design institutes and exhibition companies. After graduation, the main jobs of the students are: interior designer, landscape designer and soft decoration artist.
