The School of Architecture and Design of Jiangxi University of Science and Technology was established in May 2020 on the basis of the Design Department of the original Law School and the urban and rural planning and Architecture Department of the original School of Architecture and Surveying and Mapping, integrating related majors. It is a multi-disciplinary and multi-professional teaching and research institution integrating design, architecture and urban and rural planning.
The college has five undergraduate programs: Digital Media Art, Environmental Design, Product Design (formerly Industrial design), architecture (five-year program), and urban and rural planning (five-year program). Among them, digital media art and product design are first-class majors in Jiangxi Province, and product design is a brand major and key construction discipline at the university level in Jiangxi Province. Under the guidance of the concept of "Big architecture, big design", the College actively carries out scientific research with the purpose of serving local economic construction and closely combining with economic and social needs. Gannan Hakka Cultural Digitization Research Institute, Gannan Hakka Intangible Cultural Heritage Research Base and other provincial (municipal) disciplines and academic platforms, among which Gannan Hakka Cultural Digitization Research Institute is a key research base of culture, art and science in Jiangxi Province, and there are also research platforms of Urban and Rural Planning and Architecture Research Institute, Architecture and Planning Research Institute, Gannan Interior Design Research Center and other campus research platform
